This site is run by me, Nick Peplow, as an individual; there is no company behind it. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the site, why, and what your rights are. It was last updated on 16 September 2026.

The short version: this is an information site. You can read every page without creating an account, and I collect as little as I can.

What is collected

Server logs. Like almost every website, the hosting provider records basic technical information when a page is requested: your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. These logs are used to keep the site running and to diagnose problems, and are kept for a short period (typically up to 30 days) before being deleted.

Analytics. The site uses two analytics tools to understand which pages are read and how people find them: Ahrefs Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track you across sites, and Google Analytics, which sets cookies and may use your IP address to estimate your location. Google Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you personally, and I don't use it for advertising or to build a profile of you. You can opt out with a browser extension such as Google's Analytics opt-out add-on, by blocking cookies, or by enabling Do Not Track.

Advertising. There are no ad networks on this site and no advertising cookies. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first.

Contact. If you write to me, I'll keep your message and any details you include for as long as needed to respond and to act on any correction or listing request. I won't add you to a mailing list or share your details with anyone.

I do not collect health information, and I'd ask you not to send it. If you include details about your own surgery or medical history in a message, they are treated as confidential and deleted once the conversation is done.

Cookies

The only cookies set are Google Analytics cookies as described above. None are necessary to read the site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time.

Who the data is shared with

Data is shared only with the service providers needed to run the site: the hosting and content-delivery provider (Bunny.net), Ahrefs and Google (analytics). Each acts under its own privacy policy. Data is not sold. It may be disclosed if required by law.

Some providers may process data in a different country from the one you live in. Where that happens, appropriate safeguards are relied on as required by applicable law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, use the contact page. In practice, the only personal data likely to be held is your correspondence, and I'll delete it on request.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16 and I don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Significant changes will be flagged on the page.
