About Preecha Aesthetic Institute (PAI)

Preecha Aesthetic Institute (PAI) has roots in trans surgery that go back half a century. Its founder, Dr. Preecha Tiewtranon, began performing gender-affirming surgery in Thailand in 1975. He opened Chollada Clinic in 1978, ran it until 2002, and then founded PAI on Sukhumvit 55, in Bangkok's Thong Lo area, as a multidisciplinary aesthetic and reconstructive surgery centre. Fifty years of that history is a steady place to start when you're weighing up a trip to Bangkok on your own.

PAI's own building has ten consultation rooms and operating rooms for smaller procedures under local anaesthetic, and every operation under general anaesthetic takes place at one of its two JCI-accredited partner hospitals in Bangkok, so you recover in a hospital held to the international JCI standard. Its plastic surgeons, Dr. Preecha Tiewtranon, Dr. Burin Wangjiraniran and Dr. Sutin Khobunsongserm, are all board-certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery, and PAI works to the WPATH standards of care.

For the trip itself, PAI looks after the logistics. Professional interpreters are available for any language, it arranges airport, hotel and hospital transfers and rides to follow-up visits nearby, and it helps you book a hotel. Each operation comes with the nights you'll spend in hospital and the minimum days you'll need in Bangkok, which makes it far easier to sort time off and someone to fly out with you.

For trans men, PAI offers top surgery, hysterectomy and metoidioplasty, all under general anaesthetic at a partner hospital. It starts with an online consultation from home, then a face-to-face one in Bangkok; confirm the details in writing there. This is information, not medical advice; your surgeon is the one to make decisions with.
